Luna Rocket is a compact camcorder-style rig designed specifically for Luna Ultra. It transforms the camera into a more stable and modular handheld system, making a small camera feel more like real video gear while keeping the entire setup compact and portable.

Choose between the classic Luna Rocket One with a standard 82mm filter thread, or the more open Luna Rocket VX design, created for faster panning and direct compatibility with Luna Ultra magnetic filters.

Choose Your Front Design

Luna Rocket One : 82mm Filter Thread

Luna Rocket One features a classic camcorder-style front with a standard 82mm filter thread. It is designed for creators who want to use full-size photographic filters while maintaining the distinctive look and handling of a traditional handheld camcorder.

The wider front gives the Luna Ultra lens proper clearance while allowing you to attach standard 82mm filters directly to the rig.

Luna Rocket VX : Faster Panning

Luna Rocket VX uses a more open rectangular front inspired by classic VX camcorders. The reduced front geometry gives the camera more clearance during movement, making it better suited for faster panning and more dynamic shooting.

The open design also leaves direct access to the Luna Ultra lens, allowing magnetic filters to be attached, removed, and swapped without taking the camera out of the rig.

🎥 Modular Handle System

Every Luna Rocket includes a complete modular handle system designed for different shooting positions and creative workflows.

• Top handle for traditional camcorder handling and low-angle shots.
• Side handles for increased stability and a more controlled grip.
• Use the handles together to create a balanced and secure handheld setup.

The top handle and side handles are included with every Luna Rocket design.

Inner Sliding Tray ⚡️

A dedicated sliding tray keeps the Luna Ultra precisely aligned inside the rig. The camera slides securely into the tray and remains stable during handheld shooting, while still being easy to remove when needed.

The tray is designed specifically around the shape of Luna Ultra, creating a secure fit without adding unnecessary bulk around the camera.

Detachable Screen Mount

Every Luna Rocket includes a dedicated mount for the Luna Ultra detachable screen.

The screen can be positioned above the rig, keeping it clearly visible for easier framing, camera control, and monitoring while shooting.

The detachable screen remains separate from the camera body, giving you a more traditional camcorder-style monitoring position without blocking access to the main controls.

Cold Shoe System

Luna Rocket includes integrated cold shoe mounting points for building a complete but compact filming setup.

• Front cold shoe for a microphone, compact light, or other small accessory.
• Rear cold shoe for phone mounting and external monitoring.

82mm Filters X Luna Rocket One

Luna Rocket One is built around a standard 82mm front filter thread, allowing you to use real photographic filters instead of relying on a proprietary mounting system.

• UV for basic lens protection.
• CPL to reduce reflections and improve contrast.
• ND16 to control exposure in bright conditions.

You can use your own compatible 82mm filters or add the complete three-filter kit directly from the product menu.

Magnetic Filters X Luna Rocket VX

Luna Rocket VX and Luna Rocket VX Polar are designed to work directly with Luna Ultra magnetic filters.

The open rectangular front provides enough clearance to attach and swap filters while the camera remains securely installed inside the rig.

• CPL to reduce reflections and improve contrast.
• ND2–32 for adjustable exposure control in changing light conditions.
• Black Mist 1/4 to soften highlights and create a subtle cinematic glow.

The complete magnetic three-filter kit can be added directly from the product menu.

Compatibility

Luna Rocket is designed specifically for Luna Ultra. The dedicated internal tray, detachable screen mount, front geometry, and accessory positions are all shaped around the camera.

Choosing the Right Luna Rocket

Choose Luna Rocket One if:

• You want the most traditional camcorder-style design.
• You want to use standard 82mm photographic filters.
• You prefer a larger and more pronounced front lens hood.

Choose Luna Rocket VX if:

• You want more clearance for faster panning.
• You want to use magnetic filters directly on Luna Ultra.
• You prefer a more open, rectangular VX-inspired front design.

How to Avoid Frame Shadows

Because Luna Rocket One uses a deeper camcorder-style front, extremely fast movements may occasionally bring the edge of the hood into the frame.

• Use smooth and controlled lateral movements.
• Avoid extremely aggressive swings.
• Slightly adjust the field of view if necessary.
• Choose Luna Rocket VX if faster panning is a priority.

Why a Rig Changes Everything ✨

For me, a rig is an extension of the camera, not just an accessory. It changes how you hold it, how you move with it, and how confident you feel when you hit record.

With Luna Rocket, I wanted to combine the ergonomics and visual character of classic handheld camcorders with the compact technology of Luna Ultra.

The result is a modular platform that gives the camera a more intentional position in your hands, adds space for useful accessories, and creates a more stable and enjoyable shooting experience without making the setup unnecessarily complicated.

This is how I like to design: start with a small camera and build a practical system around it that changes the way it feels to use.
